Title: WG9200 lost vacuum any fix?
Post by: Crow TJ on May 08, 2010, 05:56:37 pm
Had a brand new WG9200 in storage for the last 4 years and when moving it out I heard about 30 sec of gas leak (assuming I lost the vacuum).  I think the control board attached to the tube was displaced when moving the monitor.  When I plug it in there is no glow at the vacuum tube.  Is there any way to have this repaired or it is a lost cause.  I suspect it it lost and an expensive lesson.

Broken Tube = Loss of Vacuum = Chuck it (the tube at least).

You may be able to find a compatible "donor tube" from a TV set or another monitor with different problems since the electronics are probably all still OK.

start searching for a donor tube, this one is toast.

match up the tube # (its very common (a64#)) and swap the yoke to the new tube (trust me it's not as hard as you think)
