I have a bartop that I am starting to mentally sketch out that is going to be exclusively for spinner games. I was thinking it might be comfortable to have a spinner in the center of the CP and a button on the left and right walls of the cabinet (picture pinball flipper buttons) instead of on the face of the CP itself. I was wondering if anyone had a cab with buttons on the side for video pins and a spinner that they can provide some feedback on the feel.
At the risk of being ridiculed, I have never liked pins, but for others who may use the machine, the side buttons could double for video pins. But I don't want to bother with them if they won't feel right with arkanoid and other spinner games that the machine is truly being built for.

the way i did it for mine was to rest my hands on the sides of my machine at the edge of the control panel. Where it feels like a natural "resting position" is where i installed my flipper buttons. And it feels great this way, no problems or regrets.

Check out lew's Tempest bartop (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=80178.0;all) - spinner only and it is SWEET.
