Title: Using the ipac and want to set a combo of buttons to exit mame...
Post by: helpmebuild on April 30, 2010, 10:17:08 am
I have an ipac which I am using on my mame cab along side Hyperspin. I am having difficulty figuring out how to set a macro or use maybe the shift function to use a combination of buttons to exit a game/mame but can't seem to figure it out. Does anyone have any suggestions? I just don't quite understand the "Shift" capability in ipac/winpac to make this work.

Helpmebuild,
This page from Andy's website gives an explanation of the IPac Shift function, and has links to all the IPac programming utilities: http://www.ultimarc.com/ipac3.html (http://www.ultimarc.com/ipac3.html)

But if you don't want to get fancy, your IPac probably already has the Shift function available and programmed (depending on the model of the IPac you are using) to do what you want it to do.  See here:

It's basically a short cut to something you do frequently. They are prevalent in software like MS Excel among others.

I did manage to get the shift function to work. I had to actually go into MAME input settings and remap the buttons there and then it worked like a charm.
