Title: Vector Games on MAME
Post by: Chunce DeLeone on April 28, 2010, 01:56:59 pm
why is the image is 'zoomed' in MAME when trying to run at the actual resolution of a vector game?  Also I used the resolution tool and when i check the ini's they do not specify a resolution for Vector games.  What resolution are you using for games like asteroids and starwars, and Tempest?

If I remember all games are rendered out at 640x480 even if the Vectors could have higher resolutions.
Tried to change that myself a while ago but in the end it didn't work as I wanted.

That's why they call it VECTOR  ;D !
Resolution independent graphics. Mame renders it as bitmap, so the higher resolution you can get, the best. On a old CRT that supports a WHOPPING 2048x1536: excellent!. On a 30 inch Cinemadisplay with 2560x1600: Excellent! 640x480: Blasphemy!

Maybe match your screen res with the pixel count of the vector game? ie: 800 x 600?
