Since I haven't seen my I-pac yet (Hopefully still sitting on my front porch). I'm not sure what size of wire I need to hook everything up. I would like to stop at the hardware store on the way home to get some disconnects and wire. Could someone tell me what gauge I need or do people just use Cat-5. I remember reading a discussion a while back, but you try doing a search for wire. :o To many posts. Thanks in advance....only a half hour left till I can go home and play.
Will this work?
UL Recognized Hookup Wire 22 AWG
$4.79 Brand: RadioShack
Catalog #: 278-1221
(Three 90' spools of solid core, 22 gauge wire. Hookup is priced by the spool. 3-spool sets include three different colors.

Also, what gauge wire should be used for running power from the computer power supply to the coin door lights/trackball light?
Thanks!

That's fine if you're not doing removable panels, except it's a typo (called R/Shack earlier). It's Three 90' spools for $4.79 each spool, or about $15. They sell individual spools with a different p/n, though.

Well I left work before anyone replied so I'm going to do a mock up with Cat-5. I'm thinking of doing a modular control panel, but don't know exactly how to do it. I've heard of people using Molex.....does radio shack sell that? Kind of an all around newbie, but I now have my I-pac in hand.... ;D

so is 22guage wire considered THE wire size to use on a CP, or does it not matter.
I didn't think this warranted a new thread, so I thought I'd ask here. Bump for you since I can't be much help otherwise :)

CP's are not really fussy. Cut DB25 cable works fine and the internal wires on that are like 28 or 32 gauge (thin!!).
Personally, I like 22 because the RED terminals are 18-22 gauge, so you have a thin enough wire that you can use 2 in one connector if needed, but thick enough that you can get a good crimp.

I would avoid using solid core wire if possible.
Go for stranded it may save you headaches down the track.
