Title: How do I?
Post by: crashdmj on July 30, 2003, 02:33:41 pm
Take an image like the button one and make it so only the button is viewable, as in having no gay black border around it. I think I have to mask it or something. What's the easiest way, I have photoshop and paint shop pro.

yeah, use magic wand.  I'm using free software(called the gimp) and it will do this too.  Here's the button with a white background.

Trying to play around with it, i click on the white or black border of the button image and select remove from image and then it gives me a warning saying "No pixels are more than 50% selected. The selection edges will not be visible". And nothing happens

Gif and maybe png? formats have transparency.  In photoshop delete the background so the gray and white checkered background is showing.  Save as a gif and have the preserve transparency option checked.
