???
GREETS ALL.
I just installed ZiNc and ROMs.....(I own all of the original boards of course)....and it ain't working with my X-Arcade.
Specifically when I reconfigure ZiNc through a GUI I'm using (http://dafreak.emuhq.com/)....when I press what should be a light punch (Street Figher EX).....it goes into a wierd slow motion redraw kind of a state.
Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong?
The MameMaster (obviously not the ZiNc Master!).

Does it work normal if you press the keyboard?
Does the xarcade work normal in a dos shell?
I thought xarcades is just a keyboard encoder... I don't have one so I don't know if it has any auto-repeat anything with it..

You know, to be honest I didn't even try the keyboard to check that out.
Since it works 100% in mame....I figured it would with ZiNc since it just mimics the keyboard. But, that's a good suggestion...I'll have to see if it does work or not with the default keys.

You have one of two choices...
Provided that Zinc (never used it myself) allows you to map keys, then you can re-map the keys to match the X-Arcade's default.
Or second option (one of the big benifits of the X-Arcade encoder by the way)
Program one of the 4 custom key maps on the X-Arcade to match what Zinc is expecting for default input.
Programming the X-Arcade is very easy and works great.

hmmmm....I forgot about the custom function. I'll give that a try!
I've already tried remapping ZiNc in the GUI but that didn't work......
But, the custom idea has promise! ;D

I just got done doing remapping my Zinc keys to match the default mame keys. I was able to remap them using the dafreaks zinc gui which worked fine when I loaded the games from gui, but I wanted to be able to load the games from mamewah and still have the key remappings in place which I wasn't able to do with the dafreaks gui. I instead used ZINCFE to remap the keys and after doing so the key remappings stayed active when I used Mamewah.
To be honest I can't remember where I downloaded it from but you could do a google search to easily find it or I could email it to you if you want. Let me know.

;D SUCCESS! ;D
I remapped the X-Arcade and that worked perfectly.
I checked to see if the default GUI keys worked and they did....so I just changed the X-Arcade to match the defaults and that solved the problem. I totally forgot about that function...that was a great idea to try that!
I found that the self configure for X-Arcade in the GUI did (on screen) match the X-Arcade default.....but when you actually used the X-Arcade the buttons didn't work properly. For those of you not familiar w/Zinc the GUI is pretty similar to MAME and has a button to click on that configures it to work with Hot Rod and X-Arcade.
In case anyone is interested in trying Zinc out , here are the links to the pieces you need:

ZINC ROMS:
link deleted...don't link to ROM sites.
Thanks for all of the advice guys!
One last question.....if anyone knows of a more up to date GUI that supports the more recent games like Mr. Driller....could you post the link? Thanks!!!
The MameMaster
(and now the Zinc apprentice)

how did you remap the xarcade buttons?
-
Go to the XArcade site (if you don't have the instructions that came w/the XArcade). You can remap the buttons via a program switch on the back of the XArcade.
(wow, you resurrected my thread from 5 years ago!!--- :applaud:)
