Title: LED display Coin Counter, where to find one?
Post by: The 80s Man on April 24, 2010, 12:37:05 am
I've been searching the web for quite some time, this is the only LED counter I could find    http://www.circuitspecialists.com/prod.itml/icOid/4105 (http://www.circuitspecialists.com/prod.itml/icOid/4105)
this kit is $23.95  and is un-assembled, needs all parts to be soldered.   Does anyone know where to find a cheaper pre-assembled LED counter?

What would be really nice is if the counter could count in 25 cent increments, to show the amount of money spent while playing but I'm sure I will never find one that can do that.

I know Benheck built one with a Basic Stamp, but since you don't even want to assemble a kit I doubt that's an option for you. I believe some arcade machines did have coin counter displays, however.

There are a few banks that count coins and give a total.  Maybe you could use the parts from one of them to rig up a coin counter in you cab. Most are fairly cheap.
