Hi,
After reading about the hiscore.dat's not working unless you compile your own mame, I decided to settle for the autosave option.
I opened my mame.ini and put a 1 next to the autosave option. I try opening various games, and I get an error saying "failed to load save state". If I manually create a save state in any of these games by pressing shift and f7, works fine. I am able to restore by pressing f7 as well. This means the games I'm getting the "failed to load save state" error in supports save states.
I am running hyperspin for my FE. In the params section I tried -autosave, autosave, and nothing. Everytime I get "failed to load save state".
How to I get -autosave to work?

If you are using HyperSpin - disable HyperLaunch for MAME via HyperHQ. HyperLaunch force quits emulators and is sending an ALT+F4 and does not allow some emulators to go through their normal processes when Exited.

Thank you, that was it. I couldn't figure out why no high scores were saving and why I had to say ok to the warning screen every time as well. This fixed it all.
I'll probably leave autosave off now that at least some of my high scores are saving.

Did that myself, and it didnt change anything..
and thats whether Im using mame(v138) or mameui64.
Only time its working fine is when i run mame or mameui64 directly.
or via f7 or alt-f7 itself.
