I am using a tube TV for my monitor, and was going to go the stereo receiver route, but then I would need to get a subwoofer for that arcade deep sound!
I have a nice Cambridge Soundworks computer speaker system, but it doesn't have A/V in jacks, just the green computer jack. I love this system as it delivers great sound, and great bottom end. Even has the separate volume control knob.
What I am looking for is a similar set up but that takes A/V inputs....or a way to get this one to work. Do they make an A/V ----> whatever size jack adapter?

Yes they do!

Just one example.

Sweet! I have to double check, but I think my "green jack" is pre-wired to the subwoofer...not at home though

Then you may want this instead:

What arcade deep sound ???
Most arcades have this for sound:

Everytime I went into the arcade as a kid, all I remember is the rumble and boom of 100 arcade systems. :dunno
I guess I thought they had a subwoofer??
I would probably be using this cabinet to play MP3's too, so a sub wouldn't hurt....

A subwoofer is never needed for music. The thing in 2.1 computer sets is no subwoofer, it is just a normal woofer. Subwoofers are for movie sound effects. A good normal speaker can do 20-20000Hz and that is more than enough for music. The woofers in my 2 tower speakers are bigger than most "subwoofers" in surround and PC sets :).

I bought a little Altec Lansing 2.1 computer speaker setup, crafted up a Y combiner to allow input to it from 2 sources and it sounds really good, even with the speakers mounted in glass!
But those adapters I'd imagine would to the trick nicely!

I grabbed this setup a while back

They have a great remote on/off/volume disc that I will mount somewhere near/under the CP. It also has inputs on it for headphones, and IPOD hookup so I can use it for music at my cookout too! Works like a charm with the Xbox arcade "brain" I am using. :applaud:
