100$ price tag on that. Will it double up as a dumper, or is it strictly read-only for playing? If you can dump with it, hopefully it will make the redump.org and no-intro projects a bit more mainstream and manageable.
-
according to IGN, you can play the game directly from the cartridge, or save the rom to your PC ... i do agree that the price is a little steep though
-
Nononono, 100$ may sound steep at first, but common snes dumpers (Super Wild Card DX2 64M, for example) can run 200usd and even up to 400usd!
-
It's steep because 99% of every SNES and Genesis game are already available in ROM format anyways.
Granted it is neat and I think it would be cool to have one just because the thing exists. But to slap down $100 for it? I dunno, If it was some sort of open source project where I could assemble and build the thing myself, then it might be fun.
It's just a matter of being a little late in the game.

I gotta be honest, I have no moral qualms about duplicating or dumping games I legally own. FOr example, all my PS2 light gun games are dumped to the modded PS2's HDD. It makes them easier to access and I have to worry less about discs getting damaged or lost at public events. The same would go for roms if I had any classic systems.
I also engage in some piracy karma. I pirated Ikaruga for Dreamcast, made up for it by buying it on Xbox Live Arcade. :D
