Which would be the safest to run on the following system (this system was given to me free which is why I'm using it):
Pentium 4 Processor
1 GB Ram
Windows XP
Asus Mainboard
I'm going to be using it for a MAME cabinet but want to go ahead and get mame configured and played with a little bit
due to me never building a mame cabinet. I've messed with restoring systems, but that was primarily the
wood work, side arts, marquee's, and a replacement of a board. Have never had to mess with joystiqs but its something I am
looking forward to.

Honestly the current build should run on that just keep in mind that there are a few games that while in Mame still do not run all that great but outside of that you should be able to run everything.

Thats what I was thinking the current build we are talking about I hope is one in the same. Listed on http://mamedev.org/ (http://mamedev.org/) ?

Well I am running 137.u2 but same "diffrence".

P4s had a wide range of speeds, from 1.6 to 2.8 (maybe even higher) so the exact speed would make a difference. The 2.8s run almost all the games that work in MAME with some exceptions, like gauntlet legends and NFL Blitz and the like. I use a P4 2.8 in my MAME cab and it runs the games I play (like Killer Instinct 2 and Street Fighter 3) just fine.

I got mame running but am still unsure how to pair with a front end. I have heard theres a way you can have multiple emu's running with 1 front end; im thinking its hyperspin. Kinda looking for a guide if anyone has one! :) PM with any information, or let me know if you have AIM or MSN which would be easier typing :P
