I've decased a 10" TV for my project. The TV takes a 2 pin mains input or a 12V DC input. Having decased the TV I have a transformer board which steps down the 2 pin mains input and then sends power back to the TV main board.
But I figured if I could power from the 12V PC molex connector direct to 12V TV input then I can toss this transformer board. Or will this not work? I've Googled for examples of where people have done this but can't find any. I've searched for molex adaptors to 12V DC input but again can't find any. The TV uses about 4-5 Amps of power and my ATX PSU will supply 18A maximum according to the sticker on the case.

No reason it shouldn't work as long as your PSU has enough headroom to drive the TV as well as the PC.
I use a 300W ATX to drive two car audio amps for my H.T. bass transducers. Works perfectly :)
