Title: How should I install side art?
Post by: kingfish on April 09, 2010, 05:08:04 pm
I just received a pair of side art stickers for a galaxian game, but they came on rectangular sheets, not shaped like the actual art.  I guess I have to cut them out really carefully.  Is there a good way to do this?

Very carefully.  Check it out (http://donkeykongrestore.blogspot.com/2009/08/side-art.html).

I would be tempted to use a real nice pair of scissors, but I know a hobby knife works too. To apply it, check out the directions javery posted. I did something real similar but I clamped a level to the cabinet instead of drawing or putting tape on it. Worked well.

I believe that Galaxian sideart is supposed to cover the entire sides of the cabinet in the same way that Centipede or Missile Command sideart does. If so; you don't want to cut the actual art shape out of the white background. You are supposed to apply the whole rectangular sheet and then trim it around the edge of your cabinet with a razor blade.
