Looking for a new pinball machine. Don't wanna pay too much but looking for something playable / decent. I have never tried rebuilding or messing around with a pinball machine mechanically. Are they easier than arcade machines?
BTW I did see the guy in Houston who is selling his stuff on ebay and posted here as well. Just didn't see anything that I was interested in.

Good luck finding one that isn't completely trashed. "Less than $600" isn't a phrase uttered often in the pinball world.
-
I picked up my last 3 for about 400-700....Those were in great condition as well.
Should remind you 2 of these are 60's 70's machines.
I did manage a 91' Data East Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles machine for $725 and its
in great condition. Bought it more for the fact I grew up with TMNT and love the machine.

Yeah, in that price range I think they'd either be trashed newer pinball machines or older (60s to 70s) decent working machines.
I've been tempted to get one myself, but I'd rather save up and get something newer and in good shape. :)

As I expected.
BTW, what part of Texas we talking about here? It's a big state.

central texas; but not opposed to driving

Where's Schertz lol. Do you take a mailed package of beer :)
Btw I sent you a PM; actually interested

I understand...there isn't exactly a large selection of good working machines that I am selling, but you weren't even interested in the Atilla The Hun? It's a damn clean SS machine for $450...

Friends dad picked one up in great-excellent from craigslist for $250-$300 from what he told me about 3 years ago. So I dunno; it just depends if the price is right and I am attracted to the game. I love the games for Novelty type person XD. I can actually ask other people for you though Kero. Where I live closest place to drive is dallas or san antonio.

I appreciate that; I need to move these games. CL deals on a good working SS game come through from time to time in the $250-$300 range, but it's rare. Just because your friend's dad found one 3 years ago doesn't mean it'll happen at the moment you are browsing. The truly awesome deals are usually snatched up in the first 20 minutes or so on the off chance somebody does post one, so there is a LOT of luck involved...

I'm even interested in repairing a machine. I've done arcades; but how hard is it on a pinball? How much money is usually involved ( i know this question depends on parts). I've recently started getting more involved in hunting down old machines and restoring.
-
Alright, I was ready to accept that I had nothing you are interested in...but if you are interested in repairing them...I have no idea how I don't have ANYTHING that interests you :dizzy:
You have some odd tastes, my friend.

Trust me money isn't the problem. It's convincing the mrs that I need to spend that much; especially since we're in the middle of planning a wedding. Kero I actually am interested in a few, but the thing is I can honestly say that I've never in my life worked on a pinball machine. I'd hate to drop money into something that I have no idea what will cost to get up and going. I do like the Time Warp machine.
To be outright honest I'm a little afraid/nervous of doing one because my whole thing with a pinball machine is man if i screw this up I know i lost money. With arcade machines im more familiar.

You'll never learn to swim if you don't get in the water...And it's not difficult to convince anyone to spend $275...
The amount of money they cost to get up and running depends on how much patience you have. Most circuit boards can be repaired for under $20 in parts. Getting frustrated and buying a new PCB will usually set you back over $100 EASILY...so, to (fully) rebuild a machine is $100 on the low end and sky's the limit on the high end. You don't lose money unless/until you sell it for less than you paid.
...and hey, it's untested, you might get lucky and it works. Doubt it seriously, but it is possible...
