Title: 4 - Player Arcade using 2 x Mini Ipac
Post by: viper221w on April 06, 2010, 08:44:15 am
Hi All,

I am in the process of building my first ever arcade system, my arcade is a 4 - player system and uses two mini-ipac's for the wiring of the controls.

I am currently at the stage now where I am using Winipac and have a slight problem, I have designed my 4 - player control panel in WinIpac but don't see the Player 3 & Player 4 connections illuminated in the ipac connection tab. This means I currently only get player 1 & 2.

Is there a trick to get two mini-ipacs configured, I wish to change some of the control mappings on the two mini-ipacs so it will work more smoothly with my emulators.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Paul

You need a 4 player Ipac (Ipac-4) to use the software that way...

You have two mini Ipacs...  both of which have a player 1 & player 2.

Yeah, I don't think the software is going to work in that config.  I've got two minipacs on my four player panel too.  I program each one at a time but I don't use the WinIPAC software.  I'm pretty sure the guy who runs Turnarcades uses two minipacs in has 4 player panels.  Maybe see how he programs them?

It looks like you can reprogram the keys.  Why not plug your 2nd one in then remap the keys to the MAME 3rd and 4th player config?   I don't think it matters if the config software correctly detects which one is which.  Just config them each separately.
