Title: What Brand of Monitor should I buy?
Post by: davidandersson on April 06, 2010, 06:05:46 am
Hi my name is David.
I am looking at getting a second monitor. Preferably i would like to get a 30 inch or at least bigger than 24 inch. My current Graphics card supports 2 screens so i will be fine in that aspect (nVidia 270GTX), but what brand monitor should i buy? Will my graphics card support 30 inch of screen? Where should I get the monitor from?
Thank you guys for the help,
David.

a better question is what will you be using it for?

sometimes a monitor not suited for video is fine for gaming.

If you like 30 inch, get a HP LP3065W or a LG W3000H
They are the best deal 30 inch screens with nice IPS panels

Make sure your graphics card can support 2500x1600

$1100 for the LG? might as well get yourself a nice 52" 1080p LCD for less taxes in.

mind you the 52 has 1/2 the resolution....

Probably not an IPS panel, either.

Good monitors still cost real money.  It's just that now there are a bunch of really cheap models filling the low end space, and that's led people to believe that all monitors should be really cheap.
