After readingt the stop rotating forum.. I started thinking about the selenoids for swapping control panels.
The question is... Anyone have any good designs for using selenoids to hold down CP's? Trouble is I have 5 (and counting) CP's and I don't want any real hardward or master crafting done on them if possible... but I would LOVE to be able to change them with pushing a button on the side of the cabinet.
So any ideas?

Use a doorbell solenoid.
When the doorbell rings, your wife can come and switch the control panel for you. She could bring you another beer too.

Ya, I can make these jokes without feeling like a male pig (as opposed to a wienerdog) because my wife OWNS me...

I kinda have an idea, but I would have to see your modular cp first....

I saw a post mentioning car door lock solenoids that will pull a bolt one direction when one button is pushed, and pull it the other direction when a different one is pushed.
You'd have either a two-way momentary switch, or two different buttons, one for lockdown, one for release.
Everything would have to line up nicely. those solenoids would have to go right into the holes smooth as butter, the first time, or they'd end up sitting on the outside of their holes and your CP would slide off when you let go.
EDIT: I bet you can get car door lock solenoids cheap as Ramen at the local junkyard. (Ramen being cheaper than dirt)
