Hey guys.
So, I'm looking to add Daphne to my cab, and I know there's one particular version of Dragon's Lair that's better suited for this than the others. Can anyone tell me which one it is? I'm thinking it's the DVD-ROM, so you can load the movies onto your hard drive, but I could be mistaken.
Oh, and if it matters, the cab's running Windows XP
Thanks and Cheers,
Eric

DVD-Rom version is the ONLY one you can use with Daphne... and you DO want to use Daphne... the software that comes with each version really sucks! Until I got it working with Daphne, I played for 5 minutes after getting it all pissed off how much it sucked... Now after getting Daphne running with it, I can win with my eyes shut... <slight exageration>

Not 100% true anymore...you can now use the DVD-Video version too, although I think I heard that the ripping software is not as good/reliable as so for the DVD-ROM version - so the DVD-ROM version is still recommended :)

Really... I thought there where missing scenes.
But buy any one you can get for legal purposes... And download it..
Sure it takes 1.2 gig or so... But you have broadband right?

You may be right :-[ although I'm sure I read that the DVD-Video version is OK now...but I can't find where I read that.
I guess either way the best bet is to get the DVD-ROM :)

Oh yeah. Thanks for the tip. I've got the plain DVD version (which stinks) already, so I'll see if I can it down. 1.1 gigs isn't a problem, really.
Cheers,

Hey, if you are converting the DVDrom, can you keep the video in the higher quality format, or do you have to convert it?
Like with DVD movies. You can just decrypt the VOB files onto your hard drive. They take up a bunch of space, but they look better than converting them to Divx.
So can you do the same with Dragon's Lair or not?

Well I ripped some good quality videos off of DVD-ROM, but you probably have to consider the original source of the video to begin with (80's laserdisk). We ain't talking Episode II digital quality here, but they aren't little 320x200 avi's either...
Besides the video has to be in a specific format for daphne.
