I'm considering bypassing the typical CPO in favor of 1/8 inch plexi that has been sanded, primed and shot with automotive paint. To keep the panel lines clean, I was thinking about affixing T-nuts to the reverse side of the plexi. The plywood structure would be drilled to accomodate the t-nut shanks and would also be counter bored to compensate for the flanges of the t-nuts. The material would be held in place from underneath with appropriately sized button head screws and fender washers. Any thoughts or suggestions would be more than welcome.
