Title: Analog Joystick With Trigger Guard Handle With 15 pin cable
Post by: hitec on April 02, 2010, 11:43:22 pm
I am in the process of redoing my mame cabinet and my girlfriend got me an Analog Joystick With Trigger
Guard Handle http://www.happ.com/joysticks/95092300r.htm (http://www.happ.com/joysticks/95092300r.htm) with 15 pin cable and 100k as a gift. I am using a newer motherboard and it doesn't have the 15 pin connector. What is the best way to hook this up, is an usb adapter the way to go? if so any suggestions on which one to get. The research I have done so far on the gameport to usb adapters get mixed reviews on various site.

That is a 15 pin gameport.  Most new motherboards no longer have a gameport.  I think your best bet is to purchase a sound card that has a gameport or usb to gameport adapter.  http://sewelldirect.com/USB-to-Gameport-Adapter-for-Joysticks-Controllers-and-Gamepads.asp (http://sewelldirect.com/USB-to-Gameport-Adapter-for-Joysticks-Controllers-and-Gamepads.asp)
