Title: CGA touchscreen monitor and jukebox software - good?
Post by: modessitt on April 02, 2010, 07:02:05 pm
I have a 13" CGA touchscreen monitor from one of those old Merit countertop games - no burn in.

I've been looking into the virtual jukebox stuff and would like to use this monitor.  I know I can use an ArcadeVGA card for the signal conversion, but am concerned if the jukebox software will look bad on the CGA.  I've been experimenting with the ETouch setup, and like how it looks and works on my computer monitor.  Will it look that good once converted to the CGA signal?

Thanks in advance...

What resolution have you been testing with ?

Lower your pc resolution as low as it will go and then comment.

Hmm.  Great, now I have to figure out how to do that on my laptop....

Well, unfortunately, it seems my laptop will only let me go down to a screen resolution of 800x600 (16-bit) and it looked okay there, although this is still an LCD screen and not a tube....

I imagine it will look the same as using TV out which can be passible. You might be better just getting a cheap 15" LCD Touchscreen, it will be much less hassle and they are pretty cheap off ebay.
