-how important is the green ground on the happ trackball. i dont have a case so there isnt really a place to put it
-whats a good bit to drill laminate with. normal bits just chew it up and crack it.
-
1) It is used to minimize static electricity. Other tballs don't have it.

FWIW, my Betson TB does, my wico does not. *shrug*
Not really needed by home uses, and it's just extra insurance for the arcade operators (like belt and suspenders) just in case. Don't worry too much about it.

What about yellow ones that were all around the insides of my cab. They were connected to the coin door and other places? I took em out when I cleaned my cab.

Same deal. I'm going to re-run mine later with some more routable 14GA stranded wire. If you leave them out, it shouldn't matter (Bob Roberts doesn't earth ground all the metal parts, and that is good enough for me ;D).
One of the annoying things about earth grounding everything is also the increased possibility of grounding something to it that you aren't supposed to >.<'

ok, lemme reword that....
im using laminate for the CP. how do i drill the holes for the buttons, etc w/o destroying the lam in the process. when i did my speaker panel it chipped it all up, but it didnt matter since it was a big hole. but the CP holes have to be perfect.

You could try drilling pilot holes first, hopefully these don't chip too much. Then turn the CP over clamp it to a piece of scrap wood so you have wood-laminate-wood then drill through your pilot holes, through the laminate and then into the scrap wood. As long as you clamp the wood tighly this should eliminate the chipping.

well, the holes are already in the MDF. the lam has just been on backorder.
i think im just gonna try using a cone shaped stone on the dremel
