Title: Swapping a CRT - pentranic CH288
Post by: swamprat96 on March 31, 2010, 10:51:49 pm
Got a dead 33" tube with a tested good working pentranic chassis. Found what looks like an identical tube - size, pinouts etc are all the same But

The dead one is Mexican and has the number 89C1UBP/00-7233295-1410
This one is made in France and has the number 99-ILL2/03-F45-0543

The plugs from the neck are identical. The neck itself is identical

I measured red and blue on the old crt- 5.9ohms- new 4.5ohms
Yellow and green old 10.5 ohms, new 13.5 ohms

reckon its safe to try it on the chassis?

i would say close, but not sure if it's close enough.

you may have to put some 10 watt resistors in various configurations to get the load back to close to the original yoke.

what about swapping the yoke off the old tube?

read the yoke inductance rather than impedence
