Okay, someone tell me why when I upgraded to 0.94b it no longer works as shell in Win9x? I can't read the error message it throws at me because it happens too fast, but just before the shell does load, I get the message and the thing powers off.
Any ideas?

Have you tried commenting out the line to make sure it even still runs? You know your layout files need to be set up differently right? I'd try it to see if you might have a setting wrong.

MAMEWah runs fine when Explorer boots as shell. I'm confused.

I agree - make sure it runs OK and then try shelling it...

OK, I just set mine up using v0.954b as a shell in Windows 98. It works no problem.
Not sure what your problem could be. Check the path to Mamewah if it's right I have no clue.

It's very strange. I had version 0.952b running as shell before I upgraded. I see no logical reason why 0.954b would have a problem. I'm very confused.
In all likelihood, my problem arrises from some other recent change made to the system. I through batch fiels that would copy the system.ini with the mamewah shell call over the one with the explorer set as shell - and vice versa. There's probably something in my mamewah shell system.ini that isn't compliant with how my system is setup. I'll do some poking around.

Yeah, that was it. My stupidity. I'd made some system changes that reflected in the system.ini, but not in my system.wah (the one I copied over the system.ini via batch file). So, I updated my system.wah . Works like a charm :)
Pardon me.
