Title: game ex question, small tweaks

i have a cabinet with a 33" wells gardner display. i use game ex. mame works phenomenally for the most part. not having the same luck getting other emulators to work properly. sometimes its a simple display setting... advise please. some perform VERY slow

also... what is the deal with newer games and not performing properly? the latest gauntlet for instance... audio repeats echoy like 1/2 second loops. game performs really slow. any advice on that?

You need a fairly decent CPU for MAME to run the latest games. Are you running a Dual/Quad Core + 64-bit OS?

What display setting are you using for MAME? ddraw? d3d?

This is not an issue with GameEx but MAME.

amd athalkon 64 x2 core processor 4400+ 231 ghz
1 gig of ram

what mame settings do u recommend as far as ddraw, etc?

its an hp pavillion.. i guess dream authentics calls it a game engine

just upgraded to 4 gigs of ram

running xp pro, 32 bit
