Title: W G moniter
Post by: kardenm on March 25, 2010, 12:14:21 pm
I have a 19 inch WG monitor, model 19K7901, which cuts in and out every few seconds (high voltage).  HOT tests good when I had it out. Also has a slight horizontal tear at top of screen which cannot be removed by adjustment and which 'jitters' during game play. Can anyone suggest likely causes for these symptoms?

does the 50/60hz pot not sort out the tear
as for cutting out that sounds like a bad solder joint on the flyback

50/60hz pot will not completley remove the tear. I did redo many solder joints including all flyback joints. picture now stays on. THANKS!!

The tear can be a combination of adjustments including Contrast.

I'll try more combinations of adjustments.  Really appreciate all the advice!

Got all fixed and adjusted. Very good picture now except still have horz tear on top one inch of screen BUT only happens with certain game board. Works fine with Skill Cherry but horz tear appears when I put in Crazy Bugs which seems to be a more "intense?" game (brighter, more vibrant colors).

Different games have different frequency settings.  When you change them out it is normal to have to make adjustments.
