A newbie here although have a few games..problem is have a wells gardner k7901 monitor chassis with a p447 main board and p448 neck board that i purchased on ebay not realizing that i needed a p456 neck board...What r my options?? Can I switch the neck boards if i can find a p456 or just find a whole new monitor board with right neck board? dunno..
-
What's wrong with your original neckboard ?
-
had a repair guy who was repairing them and he was just murdering me on the parts labor trip charges just a god damn thief.. so he took it with him to have repaired said it would cost 250 plus 150 labor.. told him to keep it and shove it up his ass..so now this is where i am at..
-
He wanted 250 + 150 to repair a NECKBOARD !! :P
(and he still has it)
Those neckboards should be straight up interchangeable, just different tube socket sizes.
(P456 and P448)
There may be a couple spots that need desoldered and soldered back to the new one, but that's about it. (been awhile since I messed with the 19" versions)

What a tool. Where is this?
-
New Jersey...ok..thanks...I will try and find one or the whole chassis..
-
Did he actually repair the neck board?
Actually, it doesn't even matter. After you told him to go stick it, I'm sure he tossed it.
Hate to say it, you're better off getting another chassis. You might find someone with one over on KLOV, or ask in B/S/T.
-
when u say chassis you mean another k7901?? or can i use a different wells 19" monitor chassis...
-
Yes, another 7900 series. Or you can get a universal replacement.
-
what is a universal replacement?...is that harder to find then a 7900 chassis?? would there be other chassis that fit my crt neck?
-
about 90% of the necks out there use a standard pinout.
the differences lie in the voltages needed for the high voltage, heaters, for the guns etc.
there is also the possibility of locating another board....what chassis is this? is this the zenith made k7000?
-
I replaced the neckboard on my new chassiboard from a 7+1 pin to a 9+1 pin. I payed aprox 4 dollars for it, brand new.
-
its a wells gardner k7901 chassis main board is a p447 and the neck board is a p448 but need a p456 neck board.. the difference is the number of pins (p448=9+1) need (p456=7+1)..both have the same main board... this is for a 19" monitor..
