Title: AMI r91 low volume
Post by: kenl65 on March 22, 2010, 12:04:04 am
Hi,  I'm trying to repair the R91 jukebox for the local American Legion.  The volume is very low but it seems like if we leave on for 20 or 30 minutes the volume returns to a normal level, but will fall off again.  I do not have a schematic.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First you'll need the manual since it has schematics in it. You can buy it at www.victoryglass.com (http://www.victoryglass.com)

# 70-5768 (R-558) Rowe-AMI model R-91 Field Service & Parts manual, 186 pages, $39.95

There are some troubleshooting guides in there that can assist you.

You'll also want to join the jukebox repair email group:

There are some good juke techs there. Some specialize in Rowe jukes.

Hi Kenl65,

I would check out for dry joints (cold joints in the USA) on the pre-amp and power boards on your amplifier. These will be more than likely on the connections between the pre-amp and the power boards on the connection pins only also check that the 13 pin jumper plug connections are good.
