I'm in the process of collecting parts for my first CP, and I had a couple of wiring questions. first I'm going to be running 2 U360's, an optiwiz, an IPAC, and (hopefully) 26 LED pushbutton's off of one USB port. First I was wondering if that would be too much attached to one port. I've read that a USB port can only handle 500ma and you can fry your usb ports (possibly your computer) if you exceed this. So, would it be possible to install a 500ma fuse on the common ground between all of the LED's. Finally, I was planning taking the 5V source for the LED's off of the IPAC header pin, would there be any issues with that?
Thanks

I would say that probably is too much for one USB port. Is that all you have available?
You could pull the 5V for all your LED's off your computer PSU if you wanted.

Well, because my job moves me around a lot, I'm just building a control panel for now. I had envisioned something that I could plug into my computer and plop down on my coffee table. I've bought a USB pass-through from lizardlick. Could I get something similar that would attach to a 5v radio shack power supply?
