I already know about the PINK MARQUEE! I am pretty damn colorblind so when my friend made it I didn't notice it nor think it was that pink till it was printed. I will eventually make a more custom Marquee but I am not concerned with that right now. Still trying to make Move lists & tinker with my software.
So thoughts? Comments? Good or bad welcomed.
I realize the handle on the drawer will upset some people. But OH WELL..
:)
Just wanted to thank SO MANY people on this forum. Your guys posts and info have been a great help..

I've seen so many people join this site and complete their projects... and I'm still working on mine... I like it. Looks good. Congrats.

I like the pink marquee. It looks good!
The drawer pull is kinda funny ... ;)
So is that a laminate finish? I notice the screw covers, did you screw it together after laminating or something?
-
looks good, reminds me of...I got one sitting right next to me ! :D
anyhey everything looking good but the panel is little too big(no?).
like you have to peak from p1 to play or something...maybe just me. :-\

Gamefaqs.com (http://www.gamefaqs.com) Has a lot of move lists. They might save you some time.
What type of move lists are you going to do? Like bezel cards? Or just print outs? Good job on the cab.
-
I would like to have 8x11" laminated pieces of paper for each game listing all the moves and button layouts if needed.
Gamefaqs has tons of good info. But getting it into a nice legible organized format for each game takes TIME!!!!!
Thanks...

The cabinet looks really good, but I think Snaaake is right about the control panel being too big. It looks like you would have to have two people to play any pinball games.
-
nice looking cabinet, I noticed the speakers. They look like logitech, is that what they are? how did you attach them in there? Are they countersunk or just bolted onto the cab? Have you got a close up of it, I am gonna use a 4.1 set of logitechs too and would like a bit of guidance as to how to install them.
Thanks,
MiKman

Yes they are logitechs.. 4.1 models.
Let me start off by warning you it is kind of a pain to do it.
I first semi traced the shape of the speaker on some cardboard. Then slowly cut away cardboard till the speaker fit nice and SNUG. Then I traced that hole in the cardboard onto the MDF. I then cut on the smaller side. You WANT to have a tighter fit than looser fit.
Then I got a drum sander kit. ($8 at home depot) They are little drum heads that sandpaper fits around then you screw it tight and the sandpaper stays. Well this allows you to sand a little at a time and check your fit every 30 seconds. Once you can angle fit each speaker in then I did the following.
I layed the first speaker in (Right to the end of the speaker grille) and held it there. Then got Liquid Nails and smothered it all over the back. ALOT. I knew no one would ever see this so I put it on thick. Making sure it did not leak through onto the front side though.
After doing that to all 4 speakers (they felt VERY loose stilll) I got black caulk and filled in around the edges in the front. (I put crazy glue in there first and let dry but I don't think taht did anything)
The caulk Makes a MAJOR mess. So have a WHOLE roll of paper towels to clean it up.
Once that caulk dried the speakers were nice and snug and not moving. Just be carfeful with the wires. The can easily pull the speakers out before the are fully set in there. So work slowly, and let everything dry.
Hope that helps. I like the look. If you look REALLY REALLY close you can see how there are some minor areas where the caulk is thicker but at the angle you see it, you really have to look for it.
Let me know how yours goes.. Would love to see the samething done by someone else..

Another picture before speakers put in..
If you saw the speakers in there after mounted you would see a TON of glue on the backside..
Good luck
If you want REALLY close ups let me know.. I can take new pictures... :)

I don't care for the 4 speaker look but I must say that having the computer speakers poke through complete with volume knob doesn't look too bad. Darn convienient too, expecially if your speaker has a headphone jack there as well. I may decide to mount a set of computer speakers like that myself.
-
Ya I'm not a big fan of the 4 speakers either, but I like the 'set-in' look that they have. Thanks for the tips on installing them that way. I think I might just try surface mounting them first and see how that looks. And if I do't like it then I'll imbed them like yours.
Thanks

is that a SlikStik CO2 or did you make the CP yourself?
I am building a UAII with a possible SlikStikCO2 control panel...
-
Slikstik CO2. Only gripe is that it is too wide...
They are coming out with a Classic unit with the same layout as the CO2. Called Co2 junior. So you can play robtron/smashtv and still have a much skinner panel.
I plan to move my buttons to that panel when the release it..
Maybe a month or so slikstik told me..'

Just so you know ;)

I think the CP is on the large side, but if you like it - right on. Finish looks good - nice cab. I am digging that marquee, too.
-
Nice work. Big control panel but hey its your game. You're not building it for someone else you are building it to suit your needs. Looks great. Might cook up some sideart. :)

ISo is that a laminate finish?

Nice job!
