Ok.. so I don't have a control panel yet (it's still being designed) but I received my ipac and the pcb mounting feet i ordered with it. Can someone explain to them how the pcb mounting feet work?

If I put the screws it came with the way it shows in this pic... how the heck is it going to reach the wood... that hollow tube part is far too long.
Yeah I know i know..

i would assume that is what the other hole is for, stick a screw through that into the wood.

You use wood screws on the "shorter" hole, and the supplied screws hold the ipac to the mounting feet.

ahh.. yeah. for some reason I thought, yeah nevermind. :-[

a cheap alternative you could do is instead of buying the feet...find some old Bic ink pens shafts and cut them to whatever length and use them instead...take your wood screws and screw them so that the PCB would rest on the Bic shafts...( basically the shaft is the washer) look up Bic pen trick....

Or you can go to the crafts department at walmart and buy a bag of beads (the large ones with bigger holes through them, like little kids use to make necklaces, etc). Those have worked as standoffs in the past when I needed some in a pinch.

wrong thread.

I've even used stiff straws (like for beverages). A pen or something else would be more rigid, but the ones I used worked fine!
