I just compiled a new MAMEUI32.EXE (136u4). Everything seemed to go well. I also have the correct roms.
I can start the program fine. It finds all the roms. But whenever I try to start a game, the program just closes. I even tried copying all the same settings from the old version. It's still not working. I don't get it.
Am I missing something. I have the MAME folder. I generated gamelist.xml. I copied the roms to the roms directory. I have the snaps etc in the right directories...not that they even probably matter. Is there something else I should do or add?

Actually, I noticed that when I right-click a game and choose play (whatever game), then it works. But if I double-click the file, then it doesn't work. And if I try starting a game through Maximus, it won't work........confusing :dizzy:

The games won't start at all with Mamepgui
Could the compiling have gone completely wrong? :-\ It didn't give me any errors though :(

My compiled version of MAMEUI crashes randomly when loading games. Usually this happens when i load the biggest roms (ie.: KOF, MVC, etc.). I'm no programmer so i can't tell if it's compiler or emulator problem.
Follow my link instructions and that problem will be no more! :)

Actually there was one error during compiling:
MameUI.mak: 40. warning. overriding commands for target 'mameui32.exe'
makefile. 663. warning. ignoring old commands for target 'mameui32.exe'
Could that be the problem??

I can't tell if those overrides may be causing MAMEUI crashes, i'm not a programmer. All i'm trying to say is that you can easily achieve the same goal following my workaround.

I found the solution to my very own problem!
If you tried to compile the lastest MAMEUI using MAME compiler and you are experiencing random crashes here's a simple solution:
1- Compile the latest version of MAME
2 - Download MAME+GUI mamepgui-1.5.0.win-20100305 (http://mameicons.free.fr/mame32p/download/mamepgui-1.5.0.win-20100305.zip)
3 - Run the program, locate compiled version of MAME, set the rom directories and other options
There are no crashes with this setup. I noticed that MAME+ emulator by itself doesn't skip nag screens in certain games so i decided to try this setup and it works flawlessly.
Have fun! :)
You mean this one? I tried it and it still didn't work.

Have you compiled the command line version of MAME?

Have you compiled the command line version of MAME?
Yes, I compiled both. But I think I will give up for now. I downloaded a precompiled version of 0136u4. I guess I'll just have to do without the highscore diff.
