Title: Unable to get videos to play in Mala beta!
Post by: JustMichael on March 07, 2010, 09:53:42 pm
I am trying to run MaLa on a Win98se machine.  I am using 1.62g.  I tried ffdshow first and still no videos only a black square where the video should play.  I tried Xvid and black square again.  I installed the k-lite codec 3.4.5 and still the same black square.  Now here is the kicker, the videos played just fine each time in windows media player.  I currently have only the k-lite codecs installed and I accidentally ran the 1.05 executable of MaLa and the video plays but won't play in the beta version.  Is there a solution to get it to play in the beta?

You might try avicodec or gspot to make sure you know which codec is required for the vids your using, then grab the right codec.

That's the problem I had way back when.

If I understand codecs right, if I don't have the right codec the videos won't play in anything.  The videos play in MaLa 1.05 but not the 1.62g beta.

i had similar problems,  download the codec pack on emumovies website and not any ---smurfy--- codecs pack around (sld, klite etc):)

You do realize that CCCP (from Emumovies) requires NT 5.0 (Windows 2000) or later right?  I am trying to run the MaLa beta on win98SE.  This computer is about 7 years old and instead of throwing it out, it got recycled into running an arcade cabinet.
