Title: Windows 7 or vista for mame both 64 bit

Windows 7 or vista for mame both 64 bit was wondering which way to go.  I am setup with vista now but I can start over with windows 7 64 ultimate I have that also.  If windows 7 64 will be faster I will go that way.  I have vista stripped down as much as possible

I think 7 is leaner and faster in standard form, but if you have your Vista install tweaked so its not using unnecessary services I don't think you'll see a difference.

I'd keep 7 for a desktop.  :cheers:

Win 7, hands down is the best MS OS ever.  I've been running it since early beta and haven't had any serious issues.  It's as fast as XP and has a smaller memory footprint than Vista.  Backwards compatibility works if you need it, but most apps seems to run without any issues.  I have to find an emu that doesn't work in Win 7.

I dont really have any complaints about 7, except some minor things  but I like it sooooo much better then Fista
