Hey Folks,
New to this Video stuff, collect Pins for the most part. Would be most Thankful if anybody could provide suggests on a TOEI GM-20SV 19" Black&White. Monitor takes a few minutes to display a picture and is still weak, bright pot is maxed out. Figure it needs a cap kit, have not found one listed for this model. Tube has some burn in, would like to change it out. Don't have a clue where to find a new or slightly used one, if it's even available. Any Ideals/Suggest for the best path? Do prefer to keep it as close to original as possible. :notworthy:
Thank You,

likely your tube is reached the end of it's life...
you can try and turn up the "screen" on the flyback transformer. it's the big black thing with the red wire sticking out of the picture tube.
turn it up just enough to get a decent picture... if you crank it wide open, you risk blowing the power supply.
if you do manage to get some more brightness out of it, re-cap it and go from there...if your flyback is already maxed out... consider replacing the monitor.

lilshawn,
Thank you for the suggestion; it seems the flyback does not have adj physical on it (white round flyback labeled TP-20). There are only 7 adjustments pots at the back edge of the board, this is were the bright etc. are. it.
I have be unsuccessful at finding a cap kit for a week now, guess its piece milling time. The monitor is for a 78 Taito SI original from Japan, even has the Japanese control overlay. Was going to pickup a chassis from 8 liner for a color tube I have but, haven't got an answer from them. Any suggestions on a complete B&W monitor swap.
Thanks,

take a look at this schematic and let me know if it matches your monitor.

Hey Lilshawn,
For the most part no doesn't look like it, only a couple of the caps are the same. Have started a list of the caps, at least the ones I can figure out. :dizzy:
Looks like I maybe purchase a color monitor. :lol
Thank You for helping.
