Mine are NBA Jam and Super Mario War. Both are very popular among my friends.
Do you have any recommendations?
-
You should try Bomberman. It's a lot of fun at 4 players.
-
Capt America and the Avengers
Brute Force (3 players) - Is hilariously fun.
Shuuz (take turns)
-
For a party... Good games, but more of, the right people.
Simpsons (good game, but everyone knows them)
TMNT 1 & 2 (same reason)
Dung&Drag
Michael Jackson (3 player)
Spiderman.
But again, these aren't really the best games, all good. But get the right crowd. I'm always amazing at how much fun MJ is after a few drinks after people argue that there is NO way theyw ould have made that game...
-
other fun 4-players.
Sunset Riders
C.O.W.B.O.Y.S of Moo Mesa
Don't forget World Class Bowling and Shuzz
-
TMNT, Simpsons, Sunset Riders etc are all great fun. But we usually prefer playing games where you play against each other. The Co-op games get boring quickly if you play with unlimited coins and usually are too hard if you play with one credit for example (especially if people are drinking ;) ).

NBA JAM
NBA JAM TE
NBA Hang Time
NFL Blitz '99
NFL Blitz 2K
The Combatribes (3 player)
Gauntlet
Gauntlet II
Gauntlet Legends
Gauntlet Dark Legacy
Ivan Stewart's Offroad Racing (3 player)
Rampage World Tour (3 player)
Sunset Riders
Super Sprint (3 player)
TMNT
Wrestlefest

Can't play Blitz 99, blitz 2k, gauntlet dark legacy, gauntlet legends... without a relatively high end mame cabinet, and even with a higher end computer, you'll still crash before the end of the second level in a lot of cases.
Look these up on Dreamcast emulators though?
-
Some more good suggestions here too. Now I need to bookmark this thread too. :)

without repeating
2 on 2 NHL Open Ice
and NBA Hangtime, its like jam but better and you can create a player!
From the other thread^^
Aren't those 2-player games? 2 on 2 NHL Open Ice would be awesome with 4 players.

Nevermind...I just realized that you could switch them both to 4-player mode.

Probably one of the best 4 player games (that translates very well to a cab) is M.U.L.E
Best versions are the Atari 800/C64.
If you have an Internet connection on your cab give Planet Mule a try :)
-
FYI, steam is having a sale on Virtua Tennis 2009 until March 8th, I believe. For $7.50, I picked it up for when my cab is complete (picked up Street Fighter 4 for the same reason).
I figure I should get $7.50 of fun out of it at least.
-
yeah, I saw that... How is it on a cab? I considered picking it up (played the DC version a lot when I had a DC cab)... I considered buying it... But I wouldn't play it on my main machine... so if its not cap friendly, not sure if its worth it.
-
Not sure, mine is still being built. I figure at the worst, I'm out the cost of a lunch. If it works well, then I know it'll be fun to have four of us playing it.
-
Trog is actually kind of fun.... I think 3 player.
I'm positive at one point and my life I played a 4 player hat trick machine. I don't think it's on MAME though.... Hat trick is easilyone of my favorites.
none of these would be great with a joystick.. but who knows...
Demo derby (not sure how good with joysticks), but a blast with 4 players.
Warlords, 4 player.
Old school atari XO football.
