Title: How to program Ultimarc's new MiniPac (WinIPAC)
Post by: Dizzle on February 28, 2010, 12:05:06 pm
I used to really like how easy it was to program the old minipac's key codes through notepad, but I guess that feature is no longer an option.  Now you have to use the WinIPAC program.  It looks slick, but every time I hit the program button I get an error message that says "failed to program device" and the minipac won't work at all until I unplug it and plug it back in.

Anyone know if there's an alternative way to program this thing or how to get the program to work properly?

Possible causes:

Incorrect settings in "options" ie board type and interface type

Running on Vista or Win7 for the first time, needs to be run as administrator, and then one reboot before it will then work.

If this does not help, drop me an email: andy@ultimarc.com

I'm running XP and if I remember correctly, there was only one option that mentioned the minipac under board type.  I'll play with that setting again and let you know what happens.

Thanks Andy.

I had to change the board option to IPAC instead of minipac and everything seems to program properly now.

Thanks!
