Title: Need help tracking down Varth CPO file (dead link)
Post by: Ninten-doh on February 27, 2010, 04:24:48 pm
I thought I was in luck when I found a high res scan here:

http://www.system16.com/cybercade/ (http://www.system16.com/cybercade/)

But the link to the high res version is dead.   :(

Anyone know if this is hosted somewhere else?  I tried emailing the site owner of system16.com, but got no response.

Been dead since '06 (http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?p=1091427) likely before then.

Surprised to see no one else scanned it in. There's been a few requests over the years according to Google.

Looking into it further, it looks like it's been dead a lot longer than that. If I were to guess, we're looking at an archived snapshot of the site. Skimming over the history, it's been hosted at at least three different sites. System16, Arcade Flyers, and EmuGames. I thought maybe there might be some old files snuggled away, but I didn't find anything (I once ditched a site and the damn host kept the broken code up for the better part of three years. So I figured  :dunno)

Thanks for looking into it.  I see that the System16.com site was last updated in June 2009, so I figured it was worth a shot trying to contact the owner of the site, but alas no luck.  The actual Cybercade sub-site, as you pointed out, has been inactive and moved around for awhile now.   :(

I know the name of the guy who used to run Cybercade if that would help.  Hasn't helped me.
