Does anybody know if Ultimarcs U-trak with USB interface has the option to add a left and right mouse button?
Can't find it on ultimarcs site.
-
No, because the U-trak does not come with it's own button encoder. The only thing you get when you order a U-trak with USB is the trackball, the USB2 interface and a USB cord (and a trim bezel I think, can't remember if it's an add-on). And the only thing that plugs into the adapter is the trackball. You need a separate button encoder to connect left and right-click buttons.

You could get the Utrak and use the Optiwiz encoder, which does support 3 mouse buttons.
-
Or an Optipac or a MiniPac ...
-
Bummer. I hoped to be able to use it as a "hufter"-proof mouse. The cost of a seperate encoder adds too much to the price for the use.
-
what's the application? an optiwiz is $15 plus shipping.
-
OK, that is comparable with the USB add-on. I'll consider it.
-
You just want to add two buttons? Odd that I'm going to suggest this again today, but would you consider a keyboard hack? Pretty simple for just two buttons. Even a mouse hack should get you two buttons.
Just spit ballin'.

I'm not going to hack for 30 installations of a trackball :D

We are in the process of switching over to a revised version which does support mouse buttons, but we have not officially announced it because we still have a mix of versions.
But I can supply mouse button support if you request it when ordering.

So is that 2 or 3 buttons?
