I'm using Windows 98, Pentium 1 (100MHz), 64MB RAM, 8GB HDD, and MAMEWAH crashes every time I open it.
Before I had the skins unzipped, it ran without crashing (I just couldn't do anything, because there was no skin!). When I unzipped the skins into the correct folder, MAMEWAH now crashes. What's going on?

What does it do - how does it 'crash'?
Are you sure you unzipped the layout stuff to the correct folder?

1. I get the "This application has blah..blah..blah", you know, the deadly error where the message box comes up and gives you the 2 buttons, "Close" and "details >>"
2. Yes, I'm not an idiot.
BTW - I know much more about computers than you probably think, but I thought I'd ask the creator of the program.

I wasn't assuming you knew nothing, but depending on the crash it may have been related to the layout stuff also based on the info you gave. That was the only thing I could think of.
Are you using Win 98SE? Maybe it has problems with versions previous to SE, I cannot say 100% as I have not tried it.

I don't belive it is SE. I am sure everything is set up correctly, so maybe its a compatability problem between [that] VB6 program and Win98?

Possibly, as I say I have not (cannot) try it with a Win98 version previous to SE.
That said, I have not heard any other complaints - but perhaps every Win98 user running MAMEWAH uses SE (?)
Sorry, I don't know what else to suggest :(
