I am in the process of popping my cherry and building my first cab. It is more of a hybrid based on the new golden tee live. I purchased a coin door from ebay for the cab because I thought it would look more authentic It claims that the door is working. My problem is that I am using a tankstick for my control panel (I know, I know).
Is there a step by step process available that shows how to connect a coin door? Is it going to be possible with the tank stick? I am fine if I don't get it setup but if it is an easy process I would like to set it up. Here is the ebay link.

rpfinley....it can be done... I used a Tankstick on my first build...I used arcadecab.com for my plans...( they are set for the duals & tanksticks)... My cab doesnt have a coin door per say ( I used this... http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=73&products_id=295 (http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=73&products_id=295) ) but you can still set up the way you want...
If you open up the tankstick, look at the 2 and 4 (credit) buttons. There where the contacts are at, you can actually squeeze in extra wires and run them to the contacts on the coin door...

I like doing that to mine , because It allows me to use the side button and the coin door buttons for credits...and if I want to take out the tankstick, unhook the wires and it back to orginal...
I used this website to help me with what to do...Hope it helps...

I have the same under over doors on my arcade.
garnerb350 is referring to the microswitch on the coin door only. The lighting is an additional step. You'll need to hook it up to a +12v source and ground.
I made a video explaining this a little bit and how I splice it into a computer's power supply.
Arcade Machine: Wiring LEDs to power supply (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_H5Zu83IJA#ws)
Also, depending if the coin door came with a wiring harness or not, I found it easier to use the existing harness to connect the microswitches. As opposed to removing the wires and crimping new ends onto the coin door's microswitch. Simply trace the wire color on the harness and then splice a wire onto that to extend it to your X-arcade.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the quick replies, it sounds like it is possible and with the boards help I should be able to do it. Once I receive the item I will post pics. Thanks!

I don't know if your coin door is like mine, but instead of splicing into the computers power supply I just put a small desk light in behind the door. It looks just like its supposed to, and it saves having to take everything apart in the event that your sister finds out that you stole her computer. (I'm planning on upgrading after I finish building everything else).
