I'm getting everything set up for MAME and I can not remember how to get high scores to save in MAME32UI. I downloaded the highscore.dat and can't remember what to do! I've been searching for over an hour through different threads and online and haven't come up with anything quite yet. Anybody use this version of MAME and configure it so high scores can be saved?

What version of Mame do you have? Mame32 and MameUI are the same thing. It's basically a graphical interface for launching roms. It doesn't have anything to do with the actual version of the roms/Mame that you have.

Oh okay, what I'm running is: MAMEUI32 0.136u3

Good, that's easy enough. You have to compile Mame using the instructions found in this thread:

It's not hard to do and it'll get your high scores saving.

Yikes, that thread is terrifying. I don't remember doing all that when I did my first cab....that's a pretty intimidating process. :dizzy:

If it's too intimidating, there is a UI build with hiscore.dat support built-in, maintained my MAMESICK:
http://mame32fx.altervista.org/home.htm (http://mame32fx.altervista.org/home.htm)
He generally keeps up with all the U releases, too.
