OK... usually I'm alright with wiring things up and have wired up an ipac4 up before with no problems... but the minipac I've got - I am utterly confused and can't get it to work at all...
I've read the Minipac PDF and that is totally foreign to me - I can't understand it or get my head around it... as I've said before, I wouldn't classify myself as new to this. I've wired cabs, both jamma and MAME! Anyhow, I want to get my minipac up and running with my consoles... I have a lot of Ultimarc console adaptors and (hopefully) and incoming HD cab... I haven't posted any pics up of the minipac but can do on request as I'm sure it will help me in finding a solution - I'm just not quite sure where to start on this!? The harness I guess...
Can someone help me with this... the Minipac LED is shining green so I'm hoping it's working... ???
Appreciate any help anyone can give me as I'm truly stumped on this... it seems overly complicated to me and unclear... the wiring harness is an utter mess!

Did you get the minipac with the wiring harness (makes things much easier) or without the harness?
If you zoom in on the wiring diagram (http://www.ultimarc.com/images/Minipac_wiring.pdf (http://www.ultimarc.com/images/Minipac_wiring.pdf)) it shows you the color code for each of the wires and the switch it corresponds to, the key is to do the wiring one group at a time. The black ground wire serves as the reference for determining where Group J1 is, the other wire groups follow, 8 wires per group.
IMHO Once you get the hang of it the minipac is tough to beat for quick hooks ups.

So what do you want to connect. An xbox? An xbox controller? to a minipac?
To mame and xbox you just hack an xbox controller. No minipac required.
Do not see where you are going with the minipac

I had the minipac for something else... and I had the ultimarc console adaptors... with a new incoming cab, it makes sense to use these together as they should be compatible.
Just to point out, I have a ps/2 version and yes, I have the loom... I'm still a little confused by what you mean z... though that might either be to do with me being thick or it being a different version... would it help posting up some pics?
Appreciate the help and links!

I would suggest plugging the Mini-PAC into a PC and get everything working and tested on the PC first.
If you drop me an email I can help
