Most common non-arcade conversion abortions i see are perfectly sound sedans turned into convertibles. They are almost always crap, especially the VW's...

I don't know if you can really say "crappy" about that conversion... It looks like a professional job to me.

That's weird. At first I thought that was a reproduction er... sphere. The photos of that TV show a CRT that takes up the entire space within the sphere. That widescreen crap looks like it's sporting a bezel.
I wonder if he just worked a bezel in there, then feathered it in with the rest of the sphere with a little putty and suitable fiberglass paint.

Yeah this doesn't look bad at all to me. The bezel needs painted white at least, but it's done really well.
We generally call something a "crappy conversion" around here because of how poorly it's done, not because someone "dared" to convert something.
