Title: Anybody know what game this is?
Post by: IG-88 on February 08, 2010, 06:58:28 pm
It's at about the 1:30 mark. Looks like a spin-off of Gorf. Cool little vid.

Space Fury is the talking cyclops (vector game) you see later.

It's a good question. That game at 1:30 has Gorf characters and Jay Fenton is the programmer of Gorf. Maybe it's a sequel that got canned, or the game was using those sprites temporarily. Not sure what it would have been turned into. Wikipedia does not list many games by Jay Fenton

That's right. I knew better than that. I've seen Space Fury a couple times too... Wasn't there a transie who helped Carmack do DOOM?

Ha! I thought you were joking! It actually was Ms. Gorf! She says in her profile that it was finished up too a play testing stage. Wonder if someone would complete it if she could be talked into let the code go.....

Her site says the game was made on obscure unique hardware, so... he, uh, she'd have to release working hardware too (if she has it--which is doubtful. Midway would have kept that.)

LOL is that a jab at Romero and his long hair?

Yup  ;D  The pic or 2 I've seen of him looked girly.

Didn't think about the hardware side of it. Too bad...looked kinda cool.

Notice the programmer who is playing the game. Fenton. Jay Fenton. Now known as....Jamie.  So I am betting that was Ms. Gorf.

edit - Oh. I missed half of the thread.
