How bad is it (besides the TV being completely unusable, I mean how bad is it for my house, kids, me, etc.) if I broke the thingy that shoots the little thingies into my TV monitor? Hey, I'm a software guy, not a hardware guy, what do you expect? It appears the little PCB that used to be attached the glass thingy is no longer there and the glass is broken (near where the PCB would have been attached).
Oh, the TV was and is still unplugged. And, when it happened I heard a "sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss" while I was running away.
The attached picture is -not- my TV, just an example to show 'about' where it broke.
Again, I know the TV is done for, I just wanna know who I just killed, if anyone.
Thanks!

You killed all of the little people in the TV!
-
Yup, all the little red, green and blue guys are gone...... gone I say. :'(
-
Damn.
Seriously...what was the sound and what bad thingies got into the air?
-
The inside of the tube has negative pressure or vaccum. You heard air rushing into tube.

Another Tube goes to Arcade Heaven :'(

The main chemical in a TV is the phosphorus coating on the front of the tube. I think the only other thing to worry about is the current that's carried by that big wire on top of the tube. Oh, and glass is sharp.

Ya know, without the case on, CRTs have to be the ugliest of all electronics.
