Title: Can someone explain control hack to me?
Post by: Shieldwolf on July 24, 2003, 10:08:58 pm
Ok so I have dreamcast I want it in my cab with my pc. How do I switch between the two? How do I hook the dreamcast up to my arcade controls? I know I have to hack a controler. Do I have to disconnect everything from my computer and then connect all the wires to dreamcast?

Please Help

Confused... err. Shieldwolf

This should answer some Q's, I prefer the diode method:

that thread directs you to the original thread so read em both. Good luck happy hacking

You might also want to look at the Game Consoles section right here on BYOAC.

I can attest the diode method works - I have been re-wiring everything to accomodate the DC and there are no side effects whatsoever because of the diodes :)

would you need to bother grounding the DC pad to every button, or could it share the same ground ipac input?

It can share the same ground as the ipac.  Don't use diodes with the grounds.
