Title: Wanted Sanyo Nintendo AUDIO Transformer Or Info
Post by: Stevenslotty on October 17, 2022, 09:39:04 pm
Hi I got a donkey kong tkg4-up that was converted to sky soldiers. I am converting it back to donkey kong. It has a sanyo 20ez that the previous owner took out the audio amp, audio transformer and every wire that would go to the audio amp and Transformer. I have a replacement audio amp and figured out some wiring, but I still need the Transformer and some plugs I can't find any info anywhere that tells me what kind of or size Transformer it is, so I can't order one from mouser or digikey. Can you tell me what size the transformer is, and what the Connectors are called so I could order them from somewhere. Also a wiring diagram of the audio section would help me alot. Thanks.

so, i've been staring at this post for a couple months now... trying to figure out what you are talking about because it doesn't really make sense?!?

Hi I got a donkey kong tkg4-up that was converted to sky soldiers. I am converting it back to donkey kong.

fair enough.

It has a sanyo 20ez...

okay i'm with you so far.

...that the previous owner took out the audio amp, audio transformer and every wire that would go to the audio amp and Transformer.

the audio system is not part of the monitor though. the audio is part of the game board.

I have a replacement audio amp and figured out some wiring,

i'm not sure you have though... since the aforementioned audio system is part of the game board. it does not have a seperate audio amp or anything.

but I still need the Transformer and some plugs I can't find any info anywhere that tells me what kind of or size Transformer it is, so I can't order one from mouser or digikey. Can you tell me what size the transformer is, and what the Connectors are called so I could order them from somewhere.

are you maybe referring to the transformer that the monitor would need to be powered with? the Sanyo 20EZ monitor runs on 100V so it has a transformer that converts your local wall power voltage from 120 or 220 or 240 or whatever, down to 100v. often called a "stepdown" transformer.

Also a wiring diagram of the audio section would help me alot. Thanks.

i mean, sure... i have attached the schematics for the boards to this post (which include the audio section on the CPU page 3 and 6 in section I-16)... i'm not sure how this will help you here. there is not much to it other than the connection and the op-amp circuit to drive the speaker. this is a very simple audio system.

perhaps if you are still struggling with this, take some pictures of the inside of your cabinet and we can see what you have going on here.
