Title: Design advice for an Optical PCB for trackball /spinner

I'm looking for some help or advice from electronics guys.

Q1: What's with all the components on the happ pcb?  Is it just signal conditioning?  Using a pro-micro as encoder, I get the same result with just 2 optosensors and 1 resistor to limit the current to the emitters*

Q2: What would be a rough cost for pcb manufacture. Qty 100, 40mm x25mm.  With holes for 2 optosensors, 1 resistor, and a 4 pin header. I haven't tried to work out how many layers are needed.

Q3. How much to design the pcb for me and send me the files to order it ? 

Q4. Also I need help to choose a suitable opto sensor (eg small 12mmx5mm like the Happ) the ones I used before are larger and I didn't choose them.



*actually that was on a big tempest optical wheel, I haven't tried it on a small trackball opto wheel.

I did find it very useful, thanks.  I bought those ITR9608 and added your arduino interrupt routines into my HID encoder  :) 

I found a small sensor with similar specs so will try that   http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/1829985.pdf? (http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/1829985.pdf?)  I'll test the simple circuit and then work out how to get the boards made.
